Pocono Manor Golf Course
Description
Surrounded by the beauty of the Pocono Mountains, the 18-hole layout offers a cool, expansive feel with an old-school character and scenic mountain views at every turn. Over 110 years, golfers ranging from novices to PGA Tour champions have enjoyed the one-of-a-kind layout — among them Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, and local Masters champion Art Wall Jr.
Few golf courses in the Poconos carry the kind of pedigree that Pocono Manor does. Two of the golden age’s most celebrated golf architects, Donald Ross and William Flynn, both left their mark here — Ross completed the original nine holes in 1911, and Flynn expanded the layout with ten more brilliant holes across Route 314 in the early 1920s. The result is a course that feels like a living museum of early American golf design.
One hole alone has made the course legendary: the famous downhill par-three 7th, just 77 yards long and dropping straight downhill all the way. It’s the kind of quirky, unforgettable design that simply doesn’t exist anywhere else in the region.
Open to the public, Pocono Manor Golf Course features a full-service clubhouse, snack bar, and a golf shop with historic memorabilia, along with lessons for players of all experience levels. Whether you’re a day-tripper from New York or New Jersey or a local looking for a round steeped in history, Pocono Manor delivers a golf experience that’s genuinely hard to replicate.
