When Eileen and Trip Ruvane opened Barley Creek Brewing Company on December 15, 1995, it became the first microbrewery in the Pocono Mountains since Prohibition. Nearly three decades later, it’s grown into one of the region’s most beloved gathering spots — and a genuine Pocono institution.

Housed in a traditional Pennsylvania timber-frame barn in Tannersville, Barley Creek is part brewpub, part craft distillery, and part community hub. Over 100 different styles of beer have been brewed here, alongside a small-batch distillery producing vodka, whiskey, rum, and other spirits — all made on-site. The full menu covers everything from pub classics and smoked BBQ to brick oven pizza, fresh seafood, and burgers.

Beyond the food and drink, the atmosphere is what keeps people coming back. Pint Size Park hosts outdoor live music through the warmer months, and the laid-back, unpretentious vibe makes it an easy stop whether you’re a local or just passing through the Poconos.
