Description

Originally opened in 1929 as a vaudeville house and movie theater, The Sherman Theater is a historic, non-profit performing arts venue located on Main Street in downtown Stroudsburg. Following extensive renovations, the theater reopened in 2004 and has since served as the Pocono region’s premier concert and entertainment destination, presenting a dynamic lineup of national touring musicians, comedy shows, and theatrical performances.

In addition to the main theater stage, the property features The Sherman Showcase, an intimate space located right next door with a capacity of up to 100 guests. The Showcase offers an up-close atmosphere dedicated to showcasing regional bands, emerging musical acts, and stand-up comedy.

The Sherman Theater is also deeply invested in community programming, organizing major outdoor events throughout the year, including downtown Stroudsburg’s annual StroudFest celebration every Labor Day weekend and local Juneteenth festivities. Please note that the venue operates on a cashless basis for ticketing and concessions.
