Few golf courses in the Poconos carry the pedigree of Pocono Manor. Golden age architects Donald Ross and William Flynn both left their mark here — Ross laid out the original nine holes in 1911, and Flynn added ten more across Route 314 in the early 1920s. Over a century later, the course still feels like a living piece of early American golf history.
Set against the Pocono Mountains, the 18-hole public layout is expansive and unhurried, with mountain views on nearly every hole. Legends like Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, and local Masters champion Art Wall Jr. have all walked these fairways — and for more than 110 years, golfers of every skill level have followed in their footsteps.
One hole alone has earned the course its reputation: the par-three 7th, just 77 yards long and dropping straight downhill to the green. It’s the kind of design you won’t find anywhere else in the region.
A full-service clubhouse, snack bar, golf shop, and on-site lessons round out the experience. Whether you’re making the drive from New York or New Jersey or just looking for a great local round, Pocono Manor is well worth the trip.
